Nigeria, Sept. 10 -- Occasionally, what a person achieves eclipses who they are. They may be allowed into an institution because of scholarship, research, intellectual contribution, or intellectual promise. But that credential can come to matter more than they do. Their appointment becomes a symbol of advancement. Their success becomes a testament to diversification. Their failure, if it ever occurs, can become something bigger than individual disappointment.
