US issues new warning to Americans in the Middle East
Nigeria, Sept. 20 -- The US government has urged its citizens across the Middle East to exercise caution due to the possibility of an escalation in the Saudi-Houthi conflict.
In a post on X, the State Department warned of the potential for "unforeseen escalation" and the complexity of the "security environment."
This is the latest security alert the country has issued since the US began a war against Iran in February.
Unlike previous calls that point to tensions between the US and Iran and the possibility of escalation, this alert seeks to notify US citizens of growing tension on a new front in the war.
The US asked citizens in the region to watch for potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions.
