Nigeria, Sept. 23 -- The family of Oladotun Oladipo, founder of The Eagle Online, has announced that the digital news platform will continue to operate following his death.

Mr Oladipo died on Tuesday, 25 August.

The family said Mr Oladipo, who established The Eagle Online in 2012, had put measures in place to ensure the continuity of the publication before his death.

"He was deeply passionate about The Eagle Online and regarded it not merely as a business, but as a platform for responsible journalism and public service.

"Dotun had foresight to have put in place some form of a business continuity plan," the family said in the statement signed by Taiwo Oladipo on behalf of the family.
