Taraba senator faces APC petition over alleged forged NECO certificate
Nigeria, Oct. 6 -- David Jimkuta of Taraba South is facing a petition seeking his disqualification from the 2027 senatorial race over allegations that he submitted forged National Examinations Council (NECO) certificates to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Adamu Ibrahim, a retired major general, who lost the APC senatorial primary to Mr Jimkuta, wrote the petition.
Dated 21 September and addressed to the APC national chairman, the petition accused the senator of submitting forged examination certificates and making false declarations in his nomination documents submitted to the party and INEC.
