Nigeria, April 26 -- Ibrahim Lamido, the senator representing Sokoto East Senatorial District, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a letter dated 22 April, addressed to the APC ward chairperson in Isa South, Isa Local Government Area, Mr Lamido said he was dismayed by his unfair treatment in the APC in Sokoto State.

Mr Lamido, who is the chairperson of the Senate Committee on Primary Health Care Development and Disease Control, said persistent divisions, lack of cohesion, and unresolved disputes have significantly hindered the progress and unity of the APC in the state.
