Nigeria, Aug. 29 -- Several communities in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State have been cut off following the collapse of the Zagah-Suntai road, residents have said.

The road, which links rural communities to other parts of the state, became impassable after a section that had earlier deteriorated gave way.

Residents said the development has disrupted the movement of people and goods and limited access to essential services, including healthcare, education and markets.

Community leaders had reportedly appealed to the state government about three weeks ago to intervene after the road first showed signs of failure.
