Nigeria, Aug. 14 -- The Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill has extended by eight days the deadline for members of the public to submit memoranda and position papers on the proposed legislation.

The deadline, originally set for Thursday, 13 August, has now been moved to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 21 August, Femi Gbajabiamila, the chairperson of the working group, said in a statement on Thursday.

Mr Gbajabiamila, who is also the chief of staff to President Bola Tinubu, explained that the extension is to give individuals, institutions and organisations additional time to prepare and submit their contributions to the proposed legislation.
