Nigeria, Sept. 25 -- The Plateau State Government has condemned the killing of residents in Kassa, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, and assured motorists that the Jos-Barkin Ladi highway remains open and safe for travel.

The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Ramnap, said in a statement on Friday that the attack, which occurred on Thursday, 24 September, resulted in the loss of lives and was "deeply regrettable and unacceptable."

Mrs Ramnap said security agencies would identify and arrest those responsible for the attack, while urging residents and families of the victims to maintain peace and avoid blocking the highway.
