Nigeria, Aug. 16 -- The Accord Party candidate and incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke has won the Iwo Local Government Area (LGA) in the Osun State governorship election with a wide margin.

The result was announced at about 11:59 p.m. at the LGA collation centre located at Baptist High School, Iwo.

According to the result sheet, he polled 27,085 votes, defeating his closest rival, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate , Bola Oyebamiji , who secured 19,660 votes.

The other results were: AA, 130; AAC, 62; ADC, 588; ADP, 191; APGA, 74; APM, 12; APP, 2; BP, 6; NNPP, 3; PRP, 4; SDP, 3; YPP, 26; and ZLP, 181.

According to the results, Iwo LG has 106,874 registered voters, while 48,985 voters were accredited for the election.
