Nigeria, Aug. 7 -- The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has assured residents of Osun State of adequate security ahead of the forthcoming governorship election, saying the force has put in place extensive measures to protect voters, electoral officials and other stakeholders throughout the electoral process.

Mr Disu gave the assurance on Friday during a stakeholders' engagement on election security with civil society organisations, amid growing concerns over rising political violence in the state.
