Oil theft has reduced, Tinubu says
Nigeria, Oct. 1 -- President Bola Tinubu says oil theft has declined in Nigeria, attributing the improvement, alongside growth in the oil and non-oil sectors, to the country's improved economic performance.
Mr Tinubu disclosed this while addressing Nigerians on Thursday to commemorate the country's 66th Independence Day, where he highlighted his administration's economic achievements and outlined its priorities for the years ahead.
He said the Nigerian economy grew by more than four per cent in 2026, inflation declined substantially from its peak, foreign reserves increased, and the foreign exchange market stabilised.
