Nigeria, June 11 -- A Nigerian Army officer, Timothy Ajato, has made history, becoming the "first International Fellow to win" the prestigious Frank Kelly Writing Award at the United States Army War College (USAWC), Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

According to a statement posted on the army's social media handles, the award, regarded as the institution's highest academic writing honour, was presented to Mr Ajato, a colonel, following his graduation with honours from the Academic Year 2026 programme, where he emerged among the top-performing officers in a class of 365 senior military officers and strategic leaders drawn from the United States and allied countries.
