Nigeria, April 29 -- The National Council on Nutrition has adopted the National Policy on Food and Nutrition (2026-2035) and directed the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning to present it to the Federal Executive Council for ratification.

The decision was taken at the council's 15th meeting, held virtually and chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, the policy followed extensive consultations with stakeholders across Nigeria's nutrition sector in both public and private institutions.
