Nigeria, Aug. 14 -- Nigeria and the United States have commenced a meeting of the USA-Nigeria Joint Working Group to evaluate progress in bilateral counter-terrorism efforts and chart the next phase of security cooperation between both countries.

Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, disclosed this in an X post on Thursday.

PREMIUM TIMES reports that the Joint Working Group was established in late 2025, following Washington's re-designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern, with its inaugural session held in Abuja earlier this year.
