Nigeria, June 27 -- Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State has appointed Abubakar Kuso as chairman of the management committee of the Nigeria Premier Football League side, Niger Tornadoes F.C.

The appointment, announced on Saturday, takes immediate effect, according to a statement issued by the governor's Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim.

Mr Bago, popularly known as the "Farmer Governor," expressed confidence in Mr Kuso's ability to reposition the Minna-based club through what he described as competent and proactive leadership.

The governor said he was optimistic that the new chairman would deploy his experience to return the club to its "glory days."
