Nigeria, Sept. 14 -- The Labour Party (LP) has disowned its former spokesperson, Abayomi Arabambi, who sued the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), for allegedly refusing to release details of the academic record of the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi.

Mr Obi was the 2023 LP presidential candidate but left the party shortly after the year's general election, citing an intense leadership crisis in the party.

Ken Asogwa, the LP spokesperson, said in a statement on Monday, that Mr Arabambi was no longer a member of the party because he was among 25 members suspended by its National Executive Council in March for alleged anti-party activities.
