Nigeria, Sept. 15 -- Nigeria's Tobi Amusan claimed the silver medal in the women's 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Monday, running 12.29 seconds in a fiercely contested final.
The world record holder produced a strong race from start to finish but had to settle for second place behind Switzerland's Ditaji Kambundji, who stormed to gold in a national record of 12.24s.
Grace Stark of the United States clinched bronze with 12.34s, while Masai Russell finished fourth in 12.44s.
Amusan, 28, was bidding to reclaim the world title she famously won in Oregon in 2022, where she became the first Nigerian and the first African to win the 100m hurdles crown.
