Nigeria, April 18 -- The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps has reclosed the Strait of Hormuz over the US's continuation of its naval blockade of Iran.
Iranian military's operational command, Khatam Al-Anbiya, announced on Saturday that the Strait of Hormuz has "reverted to its previous state." This comes less than 24 hours after the country declared that the waterway was opened to all commercial vessels.
The Guardian, quoting the Iranian media, reported that Iranian authorities described the ongoing US blockade as "piracy."
"For this reason, control of the Strait of Hormuz has reverted to its previous state, and this strategic waterway is under the strict management and control of the armed forces," they said.
