Nigeria, April 27 -- A former Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mike Igini, has urged opposition political parties to immediately demand amendments to controversial provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Mr Igini made the call in a speech delivered at an opposition party's convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on 25 April.
