Nigeria, Oct. 5 -- Gunmen on Sunday attacked a vehicle conveying traders from the Kara Bukuru Livestock Market in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing one person and injuring seven others.

A community source who spoke to PREMIUM TIMES said the victims were travelling towards Bassa Local Government Area when the attackers opened fire on the vehicle around the Total Filling Station, Yelwa Club Junction, Bukuru, at about 5:30 p.m.

The source said the injured victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The Plateau State chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Ibrahim Babayo, also confirmed the attack and condemned it.
