Nigeria, Sept. 27 -- Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the immediate dissolution of boards, commissions and parastatals in the state.

The Governor has also terminated the appointments of all political appointees.

A statement by the Governor's Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, on Sunday, noted that the decision affects special assistants, senior special assistants and technical assistants.

Mr Oyebode said the decision had become imperative as the governor's first term gradually winds down ahead of his inauguration for a second term scheduled for 16 October.
