Flamingos beat Ghana 4-2 to maintain winning start at WAFU B
Nigeria, Sept. 19 -- Nigeria's Flamingos maintained their winning start to the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Girls' Cup with a 4-2 victory over Ghana in a keenly contested Jollof Derby on Friday.
Oluwakemi Adegbuyi put Nigeria ahead in the 33rd minute before captain Harmony Chidi doubled the advantage in first-half stoppage time.
Ghana reduced the deficit through captain Seidatu Wahab in the 62nd minute, but Nigeria restored their two-goal cushion eight minutes later through Mary Dunstan.
Kaosarat Akanji added a fourth for the Flamingos in the 87th minute before Gloria Ameaa scored Ghana's second in the 90th minute.
Nigeria had to play the final half-hour with 10 players after Elizabeth Adesuyi was sent off in the 59th minute.
