Nigeria, Aug. 30 -- Filmhouse Group, an entertainment company that operates cinema and film exhibition outlets, has confirmed an attack at its IMAX Cinemas in Lekki, Lagos State.

The attack occurred on Friday and left two dead after a man, reportedly armed with a machete and knife, stormed the cinema, causing panic among patrons and staff.

Security guards reportedly stopped the suspect as he attempted to enter the premises. He allegedly became violent after they denied him access and attacked the security personnel.

In a statement posted on Instagram on Saturday night, the company confirmed the incident and expressed sadness over the deaths.
