Nigeria, Sept. 27 -- Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Sunday, approved the immediate dissolution of boards, commissions, and parastatals.

He also terminated the appointment of all political appointees.

Those affected by the termination include the Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, and Technical Assistants.

Mr Oyebanji, who won the June 20 governorship election in the state, would be sworn in for a second term on 16 October.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the governor's Special Adviser (Media), Yinka Oyebode, the decision became imperative in view of the gradual winding down of the governor's first term in office.
