Nigeria, Aug. 16 -- Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has celebrated the re-election of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing the outcome of Saturday's governorship election as a victory for the family.

The singer shared his reaction on Sunday in a post on his X account shortly after the governor was declared the winner of the election.

"We did it, Unc (Uncle)," Davido wrote.

In the accompanying video, Davido was seen lying on the floor as one of his aides, Israel, congratulated him.

The singer had been actively involved in his uncle's campaign ahead of the election and repeatedly expressed support for the governor during the campaign period.
