Nigeria, Sept. 2 -- Champion Breweries Plc has announced the assumption of office of Malolan Sampath as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 September.

The company disclosed this in a statement signed by its Chairman, Imo-Abasi Jacob, on behalf of the Board of Directors.

Mr Sampath's assumption of office follows the Board's earlier announcement of his appointment as part of the company's leadership transition.

PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported in June that Mr Sampath's appointment followed the resignation of Inalegwu Adoga as the company's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

The company said his appointment comes as it enters a new phase of growth and transformation.
