Nigeria, Aug. 23 -- New AC Milan coach Ruben Amorim has backed Samuel Chukwueze to thrive in a new wing-back role, insisting the Nigerian possesses the mentality and character required to contribute defensively to his tactical system.

Amorim has settled on a 3-4-2-1 formation as his preferred approach at Milan, using the system throughout the club's pre-season fixtures as he prepared the team for the new campaign.

While some players have naturally fitted into established roles within the system, others have had to adapt to new positions, with Chukwueze among those who have undergone a tactical change.
