Adetshina's deportation case postponed as South African protesters demand her return to Nigeria
Nigeria, Aug. 20 -- The Cape Town Regional Court has adjourned proceedings over the immigration status of former Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, Chidinma Adetshina, as protesters demand that she be sent back to Nigeria.
Ms Adetshina appeared before the court on Wednesday to seek to stop authorities from detaining her over her immigration status.
PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that she submitted an affidavit explaining the measures she had taken to regularise her status in South Africa.
IOL, a South African news platform, reported that the court postponed the matter to 27 February 2027. Following the hearing, Ms Adetshina again said she was born in South Africa.
