Nigeria, Sept. 16 -- A coalition of prominent northern political leaders, former governors, and lawmakers has formed a political mobilisation platform called Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign.

Operating across the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the group will be anchored by a 14-member Board of Trustees (BOT) chaired by former Kano State Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau.

He will be deputised by the Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Geidam, and former Plateau governor Simon Lalong, with former Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru serving as the board's secretary.
