Nigeria, Sept. 21 -- A group supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress has rejected the reasons given by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for promoting the Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 elections.

The group, APC Grassroots organisation, said that Mr Wike's intention was to undermine the ruling party, as he allegedly did to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2023 elections through the G-5 alliance.

Chairman of the organisation, Mukhtar Rabiu, made the allegations in a statement on Sunday, warning that the coalition could negatively affect President Bola Tinubu's bid for a second term.
