World Bank Provides Additional Financing to Support Earthquake Recovery and Resilient Housing in Turkiye
Turkey, July 1 -- The World Bank approved a €250 million additional loan to the Republic of Turkiye to scale up recovery and reconstruction efforts following the February 2023 earthquakes, focusing on resilient rural housing and the restoration of essential services.Together with €150 million in co-financing from the Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD), bringing total financing to €400 million, the program will help meet remaining housing reconstruction needs by supporting the construction of 3,000 additional rural homes for families still living in temporary shelters.The financing is part of the Turkiye Earthquake Recovery and Reconstruction Project (TERRP), which was approved in June 2023 to support the government's ...
