United States, Aug. 4 -- A new World Bank Group project approved today will increase safe and reliable access to water and sanitation in selected island provinces of the Philippines, improving water security, supporting tourism and local development, and creating more jobs.The project, Philippines Accelerated Water and Sanitation Project in Selected Areas (AWSPSA), will expand climate-resilient water supply, sanitation, storage, distribution networks, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities in the vulnerable areas of Bohol, Siargao and Jolo, where water-access gaps and climate risks are significant.The project is expected to generate 8,700 jobs within five years of completion, rising to around 46,500 jobs over a 25-year period....
