United States, Oct. 2 -- The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group focused on the private sector, and SMBC today announced a new supply chain finance facility designed to expand access to affordable working capital for small and medium-sized businesses in emerging markets, helping them get paid faster, build lasting financial resilience, and support employment in the communities where they operate.The program anchors credit to the financial strength of large buyers rather than suppliers themselves, enabling smaller businesses - many of them SMEs - to receive early payment on invoices at rates they could not access on their own.
