Walashek Industrial and Marine Inc. Awarded $9.7 Million to Repair Steam Propulsion Plant Systems on USS Iwo Jima During Scheduled Availability
United States, June 12 -- Walashek Industrial & Marine Inc., Norfolk, Virginia, is awarded a $9,723,782 firm-fixed-price level-of-effort modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-26-C-4434) to exercise an option for the accomplishment of maintenance, modernization, and repair of the steam propulsion plant systems on USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) during the scheduled fiscal 2026 selected restricted availability.Work will be performed in Norfolk, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by May 2028.Fiscal 2026 other procurement, (Navy) funds in the amount of $9,723,782 will be obligated at the time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
