Thales to enhance air traffic surveillance capabilities in Slovenian airspace
Slovenia, May 27 -- Thales has been awarded an important contract by Slovenia Control, the country's Air Navigation Services Provider (ANSP), to deliver and install a co-mounted primary radar, STAR NG, and secondary surveillance radar, RSM NG. With air traffic in Europe steadily rising, the new radar system will provide redundant, continuous surveillance coverage within Slovenian airspace, monitoring both cooperative and non-cooperative aircraft to further enhance operational safety, security and efficiency.Thales will deliver the co-mounted radar system, including a 30-metre tower and a protective radome, to ensure reliable operation even in harsh weather conditions, by mid-2027.
