Rolls-Royce awarded U.S. Coast Guard Cutter long-term maintenance contract
United Kingdom, April 22 -- Rolls-Royce Power Systems in the US has been awarded a firm-fixed-price contract from the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) to provide dockside scheduled maintenance and emergent repairs for the service's National Security Cutter fleet. The contract covers 10 vessels powered by mtu Series 1163 engines.The new 10-year agreement builds on the success of Rolls-Royce's previous USCG support contract, which has covered maintenance and repairs for the fleet since the first cutter was commissioned in 2008.Rolls-Royce will provide maintenance and repair services for the main propulsion diesel engines installed on each 418-foot National Security Cutter.
