Paraguay, March 16 -- The Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDB Group) and the government of Switzerland today announced a joint initiative to support the implementation of the free-trade agreement between Mercosur and the European Free Trade Association, including an analysis of its economic potential, the promotion of private-sector participation and investment, and the identification of regulatory harmonization opportunities. The initiative was announced during the IDB Group Annual Meetings, held this year in Paraguay, and marks a new phase in the long-standing cooperation between Switzerland and the Group.
