ACCIONA Energía to install two new battery energy storage systems in Spain
Spain, Aug. 11 -- ACCIONA Energía will install two new battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Cuenca and Palencia, Spain, with commissioning scheduled for late 2027.The first project will have an installed capacity of 20MW and a two-hour storage duration, and it will be located near the 50MWp Bolarque photovoltaic plant in the municipality of Villalba del Rey (Cuenca).The second one will have an installed capacity of 13MW and a two-hour storage duration, and it will be built near the 22MW El Cuadrón wind farm, located in the municipalities of Hornillos de Cerrato and Torquemada (Palencia).Battery energy storage systems play a critical role in integrating renewable energy into the electricity system by managing the intermittency of...
