Switzerland, July 17 -- ABB is acquiring Advantics, a specialist provider of Silicon Carbide-based power conversion solutions based in France. The acquisition expands ABB's Direct Current (DC) portfolio and positions the company to serve accelerating demand for efficient DC solutions across data centers, industrial microgrids, power generation and EV infrastructure. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close by Q4 2026.The IEA expects electricity's share of final energy consumption to rise from 20 percent today to around 36 percent by 2035.
