India, May 7 -- Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh informed the Delhi High Court that he was not the singer of the controversial 2006 track Vol. 1, allegedly released under the 'Mafia Mundeer' collaboration with Badshah.

Appearing before Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, Honey Singh's counsel said the rapper has consistently maintained that the "vulgar" song was not sung by him and that he wants the track removed from online platforms to clear the "stigma" attached to his name.

The court was hearing a petition filed by Hindu Shakti Dal seeking removal of the song from platforms such as YouTube and Spotify over allegedly objectionable lyrics targeting women.
