Yamuna cleanup drive held across 28 Ghats in Delhi, CM Rekha Gupta urges public participation
India, June 15 -- A large-scale cleanliness drive was conducted across 28 ghats along the Yamuna River in Delhi on Sunday, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta urging citizens to actively participate in efforts to keep the river clean.
According to officials, the "Maa Yamuna Clean-Up Drive" was carried out simultaneously at multiple locations, with volunteers, civic workers and local organisations taking part in removing waste from riverbanks.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta joined the initiative at Dashmesh Ghat in Geeta Colony, where she interacted with volunteers and highlighted the importance of sustained public involvement in maintaining cleanliness of the Yamuna.
