Woman killed after BMW hits her near Delhi Cantt, driver held
India, Aug. 12 -- A 48-year-old woman who worked as cleaning staff at the Delhi Cantonment Board was killed after a BMW car struck her near Delhi Cantt on Tuesday afternoon. The driver, identified as Deepak, 38, a professional driver who was returning from the airport alone in the vehicle, was apprehended by police after a case was registered at Delhi Cantt police station.
The deceased has been identified as Jaiwanti, a resident of East Mehram Nagar. She was on her way home when the car hit her. Bystanders shifted her immediately to DDU Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. Police received the PCR call at around 12 pm, rushed to the spot, and initiated an inquiry. The offending vehicle is a BMW.
