India, April 29 -- Voting in the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026 witnessed strong participation, with over 61% voter turnout recorded till 1 p.m., even as sporadic incidents of violence were reported from parts of the state.

According to the Election Commission of India, more than 3.21 crore voters are eligible in this phase, covering 142 constituencies across key districts in South Bengal and Kolkata. Hooghly recorded the highest turnout at 64.57%, followed by Howrah at 60.68%. Kolkata North registered 60.18%, Kolkata South 57.73%, while Nadia reported 61.41% turnout.
