India, July 11 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari handed over a government job appointment letter and financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh to the family of Indrajit Mondal, who was lynched following public outrage over the rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl in Baruipur.

The Chief Minister met the victim's family and assured them of the state government's support. He said Mondal had no involvement in the crime and stressed that those responsible for his killing would face strict legal action.

Adhikari also visited the family of the minor rape and murder victim, expressing condolences and assuring them that the government would ensure speedy justice in the case.
