India, June 1 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday rejected allegations of political vendetta against the Trinamool Congress (TMC), asserting that the CID notice issued to TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee stemmed from complaints made by two legislators from his own party.

Addressing a press conference, Adhikari said TMC MLAs Ritabrata Bandopadhyay and Sandipan Saha had alleged that their signatures were forged in a resolution submitted to the Assembly Secretariat supporting the appointment of Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay as the Leader of Opposition. Shortly after the allegations surfaced, the TMC expelled both legislators for alleged anti-party activities.
