India, March 17 -- Delhi's Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma on Monday laid the foundation stone for a new flood control monitoring centre at the L.M. Bund Office Complex in Shastri Nagar. The centre aims to strengthen the capital's preparedness for the monsoon season.

The proposed facility will function as a central monitoring hub for flood management operations in the city. The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 355.72 lakh, is expected to be completed by June 15, 2026, ahead of the peak monsoon period.
