India, April 2 -- Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra has assumed the charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power. Prior to his elevation to the top post, he was serving as Director (Projects) within the organisation.

An engineering graduate with a Post Graduate Diploma in Planning & Project Management, Vamsi also holds a PG Diploma in Management from the Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurugram. His academic credentials are supplemented by the Harvard Manage Mentor (HMM) programme and advanced management programmes at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad.
