India, May 24 -- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held an important meeting with India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar during his visit to New Delhi, with discussions focused on strengthening ties between the two countries.

The meeting covered several major issues including trade, regional security, technology cooperation, visa concerns, and developments in the Middle East.

Rubio described India as one of the United States' most important strategic partners and highlighted the growing importance of the relationship beyond traditional diplomacy.
