India, June 19 -- US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday, and the two discussed strengthening cooperation in security, particularly in counter-terrorism and counter-narcotics.

This comes a day after the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump at the G7 summit in Evian-les-Bains, France.

In a social media post, Shah said, "Met US Ambassador to India, Mr Sergio Gor in New Delhi today. Had a detailed discussion on further strengthening cooperation between India and the US in the area of security, particularly in counter-terrorism and counter-narcotics."
