India, July 1 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has extended the tenure of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya by another 15 days. The extension is aimed at allowing investigators to widen the scope of the inquiry and conduct a more comprehensive examination of the alleged financial irregularities.

The three-member SIT was constituted on June 13 following allegations of misappropriation of donations made by devotees at the Ram Temple.
